Commercial grounds maintenance
Annual contracts for blocks, offices, schools and community grounds around Horley, Crawley and Gatwick. The same faces, every visit.
Commercial grounds need someone who turns up on the agreed day, does the whole job properly, and answers the phone when a resident or tenant raises something. That’s us. We’re a family-run team from Horley and we’ve been looking after grounds round here since 2004.
We work to a written schedule for the year, so you know exactly what gets done and when: grass, edges, hedges, shrub beds, leaves and litter. One fixed price, invoiced monthly or quarterly, and one number to ring.
What you can count on
- A written schedule for the whole year
- One fixed price, monthly or quarterly
- The same team on site every visit
- Fully insured, certificates on request
- Clippings collected every visit

What a contract covers.
A typical schedule for a commercial site. We’ll tailor it to yours after a walk-round.
Grass and edges
- 16 to 26 cuts a year, March to October
- Edges cut back every visit
- Strimming round posts, signs and bins
- Cutting height raised in dry spells
Hedges and shrubs
- Boundary and screening hedges cut once or twice a year
- Shrub beds weeded and kept clear of paths
- Winter pruning, never more than a third
- Nest checks before every hedge cut
Paths and hard edges
- Weeds pulled from kerbs, joints and gravel
- Paths and car park edges kept clear
- Litter picked from beds and verges each visit
- Overhanging growth cut back from walkways
Through the seasons
- Leaf clearance from October to December
- Car parks, paths and steps gritted in frost and snow
- Spring tidy and bed edging
- Winter visits to keep things in check
- A walk-round and schedule review each year
To be straight with you: we’re not tree surgeons, landscapers or sports-turf specialists, and we don’t do jet washing. If you need any of that, we’ll tell you so and point you to someone local who does it well.
How it works.
Four steps from first call to a site that looks after itself.
Walk-round
We meet you on site, walk the grounds, and note what matters: the frontage people see first, the awkward bits, access times and anything residents or staff have complained about.
Schedule and price
You get a written schedule for the year listing every task and how often it happens, with one fixed price. Itemised, so it’s easy to compare quotes or take to a board.
Regular visits
We start on an agreed date and visit on the agreed days. The same team is on site every time, so the people doing the work are the people you spoke to.
Review
Once a year we walk the site with you again, look at what worked and what didn’t, and adjust the schedule for the next season.

Already doing it.
These are communal beds and hedges at a block of flats we look after. Car park edges, overgrown ivy and laurel, and a bin store that residents walk past every day, all kept in check on a regular visit.
That photo is one of our own sites, taken on the day.

Winter gritting, before anyone’s about.
Car parks, entrances, ramps and walkways gritted by hand ahead of the frost, to a plan agreed with you, with a record of every visit.
Commercial grittingQuestions people ask
Anything else, just ring. You’ll speak to the people who do the work.
Which areas do you cover for commercial work?
We’re based in Horley and cover roughly 15 miles around it: Crawley, Gatwick, Reigate, Redhill, Salfords, Smallfield, Copthorne, Lingfield, East Grinstead, Dorking and the villages in between. If your site is a little further out, ask anyway.
Are you insured?
Yes, we’re fully insured. Copies of our certificates are available on request so you can put them on file.
Can you work to our existing specification?
Yes. If you already have a spec or schedule of works, send it over and we’ll price against it line by line. If you don’t, we’ll walk the site with you and write one.
How do you invoice?
A fixed price for the year, invoiced monthly or quarterly, whichever suits your accounts. Extra one-off jobs are quoted separately and agreed before we start.
What happens if weather stops a visit?
We don’t cut wet or frozen grass because it damages the turf. If a visit can’t go ahead we move it to the next workable day and let you know. Over the season you still get the number of visits in your schedule.
Do you take the cuttings away?
Grass clippings and hedge cuttings from our own work are collected at the end of every visit unless you have a compost area on site you’d like us to use.
Walk the site with us.
We’ll come out, look at the grounds with you and send a written schedule and a fixed price for the year.
