How we plan our rounds
We group visits by area, so a Tuesday might be Salfords, Earlswood and Redhill, and a Thursday Lingfield and Smallfield. That’s why regular customers get a set day, and why we can usually squeeze a one-off job in when we’re already nearby.
The closer you are to Horley, the more flexible we can be. Further out, towards Epsom, Horsham or Edenbridge, regular visits suit us better than odd one-off jobs, simply because of the drive. We’ll always tell you straight if somewhere’s too far to do properly.
Same patch, very different gardens
Fifteen miles doesn’t sound like much, but the ground changes a lot. Most of Horley, Crawley and the villages to the east sit on heavy Weald clay that holds water all winter and cracks in a dry summer. Reigate and Redhill straddle the greensand ridge, which drains fast, and Dorking, Caterham and the villages under the Downs have thin soil over chalk. Each one changes how often a lawn needs cutting, when hedges grow, and what does well in a border.
