Most of our customers have us round every week or fortnight from spring to autumn, and less often over winter. We cut the grass, keep the edges sharp, look after the hedges and borders, and take everything away with us.
Others ring once or twice a year for a hedge cut or a big tidy-up. That’s fine too. No job’s too small, and you’ll get the same people and the same care either way.

Regular visits or a one-off job?
For most lawns round here, fortnightly from spring to autumn is the sweet spot. Weekly through May and June if you want the stripes to stay sharp, and monthly over winter for leaves, edges and a general tidy. A regular slot also works out cheaper per visit than ringing us when it’s got away from you, because a lawn that’s cut little and often takes less time to do.
One-off work is fine too. Plenty of people call once a year for the hedges, or after a house move when the garden’s been left. We’ll quote for the job, do it, and only come back if you ask us to.
What heavy Surrey clay means for your garden
Much of the ground around Horley, Crawley and Smallfield is Weald clay. It holds water all winter and sets like brick in a dry July, so we don’t cut when it’s sodden, and we raise the mowing height in a dry spell so the grass doesn’t scorch. Up on the greensand around Reigate and Redhill the soil drains much faster, and lawns there brown off sooner in summer.
