Communal garden maintenance in Epsom
Shared lawns, beds and hedges for Epsom blocks and estates, on a fixed annual price.
A lot of Epsom’s newer housing sits inside old grounds. The Epsom Cluster, five large psychiatric hospitals west of the town, has largely been turned into homes, and Horton, Long Grove, Manor, St Ebbas and West Park are now conservation areas in their own right. So a fair amount of communal garden maintenance in Epsom happens around period buildings, mature trees and big shared lawns.
We already look after communal beds and hedges at blocks of flats locally. For each site we write an annual schedule, agree a fixed price and invoice monthly or quarterly, with an itemised quote so residents can see what they’re paying for.
What we look after
- Communal lawns and verges
- Parking court beds and kerb lines
- Boundary and screening hedges
- Bin store and entrance planting
- Paths, steps and gravel kept weed-free
- Leaf clearance from paths and drains
- Gritting paths, steps and car parks in frost and snow

Big shared lawns on heavy western clay
The west side of Epsom is London Clay, and shared lawns there take a beating. Residents cut the same corner every day, and the grass wears to mud along the line. Running mowers over sodden clay makes that worse, so we don’t. We keep parking court beds and kerb lines tidy, and clear leaves from paths and drains before they block. It’s ordinary work, done the same way every visit.
Block of flats garden maintenance, priced for agents
Managing agents want two things: no complaints from residents and no surprises on the invoice. We’ll quote against your existing specification, or help you write one if the site’s never had one. The same team turns up at every visit, so residents get to know who’s working on the grounds. Insurance certificates are available whenever your files need them. Leaf clearance from paths and bin stores is built into the autumn visits.
Blocks and communal grounds in Epsom: your questions
Anything else, just ring. You’ll speak to the people who do the work.
Can you quote against our existing specification?
Yes. Send it over and we’ll price it line by line, or point out anything that doesn’t suit the site.
Do you deal with the trees on the estate?
No. Tree work needs an arborist, and on the hospital estates many trees sit in conservation areas with their own rules. We look after the lawns, beds, hedges and paths.
How do you handle a site so far from Horley?
Epsom is near the edge of our area, so we plan communal sites into fixed days on a written schedule. That suits contract work well, because the visits are regular anyway.
Can residents report problems to you directly?
We’d usually work through the managing agent, so there’s one record of what’s been asked for. If you’d rather residents’ committees spoke to us too, that’s fine, as long as everyone agrees who signs off changes.
