Garden clearance in Crawley Down
Overgrown gardens cut back to a clean, usable space, with every scrap taken away.
Garden clearance in Crawley Down is a job we often get asked to do after a house changes hands. A garden that was lovingly kept for forty years gets harder to manage, then sits empty while a sale or probate goes through. By the time anyone looks at it properly, the bramble has reached the kitchen window.
We clear it back to something you can see and use: lawn found, beds uncovered, paths back in view. Then it all goes in the van. Nothing gets left in a heap behind the shed for you to deal with later.
What we do
- Full overgrown garden clearance
- One-off blitzes to reset a garden that’s got away from you
- End-of-tenancy, house sale and probate clear-ups
- Bramble, ivy and weed removal
- Old shrub, growth and border clearing
- Everything cleared and taken away, garden left swept

A full garden tidy up on a bigger plot
Some of the larger plots, particularly along Sandhill Lane on the southern edge of the village, have room for a lot to go wrong. Bramble runs along the boundary, ivy swallows a fence, and self-sown sycamore and holly turn up in the beds. A proper garden tidy up starts by cutting everything down to see what’s worth keeping. Good shrubs get pruned back, not ripped out. Bramble roots get dug, because cutting the stems alone means they’re back by summer.
What affects garden clearance cost?
Mostly volume and access. A small back garden with a side gate is quick. A big, overgrown plot where everything has to be barrowed through a narrow passage takes much longer, and the amount of waste decides how many loads we need. Big shrub stumps add time too. We’ll walk round with you, say what’s included and give you a fixed price. Afterwards, plenty of people move onto a regular visit so the garden never gets that bad again.
Garden Clearance in Crawley Down: your questions
Anything else, just ring. You’ll speak to the people who do the work.
Do you take everything away?
All the green waste, yes. It’s loaded up and taken away as we go, and the garden is left swept. Soil, rubble and household rubbish are a different matter, and we’ll tell you up front if there’s any of that.
Can you clear a garden before a house sale?
Yes, and it’s well spent. Buyers notice a garden they can actually see. We can do a one-off clear and then a tidy finish a few days before photographs or viewings.
Do you check for nesting birds before clearing?
Yes. In spring and summer we check hedges, shrubs and dense bramble before cutting. If birds are nesting, we leave that patch and come back once they’ve gone.
Is winter a good time to clear an overgrown garden?
Often it’s the best time. Nothing’s nesting, bramble is easier to see, and borders have died back so we can tell what’s worth saving. Waterlogged ground slows us down, but the cutting and clearing can still go ahead.
