Lawn mowing in Edenbridge
Weekly or fortnightly cuts for Edenbridge lawns, timed around the clay and the river.
Lawn mowing in Edenbridge is a bit of a balancing act. The town sits on the northern edge of the Weald Clay, and the Eden winds right through it, so plenty of lawns here hold water long after the rain has stopped. Cut on the wrong day and you do more harm than good. We’d rather wait a day and get it right.
We run rear-roller Hayter mowers, so the finish is properly striped, and we edge and strim every visit. All the clippings go in the van. If you’re in TN8 and searching for a grass cutting service near me, we’re a straightforward drive over from Horley, and the same team turns up each time.
What we do
- Regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly grass cutting
- Striped finish with a rear-roller mower
- Crisp edging along paths, borders and driveways
- Strimming around trees, posts, fences and obstacles
- All clippings collected and taken away, every visit
- Cutting height adjusted through the seasons and in dry spells

Grass cutting in Edenbridge when the ground stays wet
Clay drains slowly. After a wet week a lawn in the low ground near the river can look fine and still be soft enough to take a heel print. Run a mower over it then and you squash the soil, smear the surface and tear the grass. That compaction comes back as moss and bare patches the following spring. So if a lawn is soaked or frozen, we move the visit to the next dry day and tell you. It isn’t fussiness. It’s the main reason some lawns in town get better each year while others slowly go downhill.
Lawn mowing in TN8: weekly or fortnightly?
For most family lawns here, fortnightly is right in spring and autumn, and weekly suits May and June, when the clay is warm and still damp and the grass really goes. In a dry July we drop back and lift the cutting height. Clay sets hard and cracks in a drought, and a lawn cut short browns within days. Leaving more leaf looks a little less neat for a few weeks, but it shades the roots and greens up quickly once the rain returns.
Newer lawns at Oakley Park, where the first homes were finished in 2019, often sit on ground that was driven over during building. They usually want a gentler regime for their first few seasons.
Lawn Mowing in Edenbridge: your questions
Anything else, just ring. You’ll speak to the people who do the work.
What do lawn mowing services cost in Edenbridge?
It depends on the size of the lawn, how easy it is to get a mower to it, and how often you want us. Regular visits work out better value per cut than one-offs. We’ll come and look, then give you a fixed price.
Can you cut a back garden with no side access?
Usually, yes. If there’s no side gate, the mower may need to come through the house or along a shared alley. Tell us when you ring and we’ll plan for it.
When does the mowing season start here?
Usually late March or April, once the clay has warmed and dried enough to walk on. The first cut is a high one, just taking the tips off. We carry on into October and stop when the growth does.
