Garden maintenance in Nutfield
A regular visit for Nutfield gardens, from the same team every time.
Regular garden maintenance in Nutfield suits a village where plenty of people leave early. The station has hourly trains on the Redhill to Tonbridge line, the A25 runs along the top of the village, and the A23 is a couple of miles west. Gardens get left until the weekend, and then the weekend fills up. We come on a set day, do what’s due and take the waste away.
It’s the same team every visit, so we get to know the garden: where the lawn stays wet, which gate sticks, which shrub is about to flower. You don’t need to rebook each time, and nobody has to be home.
What we do
- Mowing, edging and strimming every visit
- Border weeding and bed tidying
- Hedge and shrub work on a seasonal schedule
- Leaf clearance through autumn and winter
- General tidying and path sweeping
- All green waste taken away, every time

What garden maintenance in Nutfield looks like through the year
Spring is mowing, edging and getting on top of weeds before they seed. On the sandy ground up the hill that starts a little earlier. Summer means mowing higher, deadheading and light hedge trims once we’ve checked for nests. Autumn brings leaves, the main hedge cuts and cutting back the borders. Winter is quieter on the lawns, especially in South Nutfield where the clay stays soft, and busier with rose pruning and shrub work.
How often should a gardener come?
For a typical family garden in the village, fortnightly is the sweet spot through the growing season. Weekly suits a big lawn in May and June, and some of the larger plots on the hill need it. Monthly is fine for a small, low-maintenance garden, though in a wet summer on clay it leaves too long between cuts. We’d usually start on fortnightly, watch how the garden grows for a season, then adjust. Garden maintenance services shouldn’t be fixed in stone.
Garden Maintenance in Nutfield: your questions
Anything else, just ring. You’ll speak to the people who do the work.
Do I need to be in when you visit?
No. As long as we can get into the garden, you can be at work. Plenty of our visits happen with nobody home.
What do garden maintenance prices depend on?
Garden size, what’s in it and how often we come. A small garden near the station is a very different job to a long plot backing onto fields. We’ll give you a fixed price per visit after a look.
Can I choose what’s included?
Yes. If you like doing the borders yourself, we’ll stick to lawns and hedges. Tell us what you want and we’ll set the visit up around it.
Is there a contract to sign?
There’s no minimum term. It’s a rolling arrangement, and you can change it or stop whenever you need to.
