Garden maintenance in Oxted
One regular visit covering lawn, hedges and borders, tuned to the soil your garden sits on.
Regular garden maintenance in Oxted means one team, a set day and a garden that never gets ahead of you. We mow, edge, weed the borders, keep the hedges in shape and take everything away. Nobody has to be home, and nobody has to rebook each time.
The town is a real mix. There are stucco-fronted streets near the station, the medieval layout of Old Oxted, the Arts and Crafts houses Oxted is known for, and the residential spread of Hurst Green and Holland. At the 2011 census, detached houses were the most common type of home in the parish, and big plots take more keeping up than most people bargain for.
What we do
- Mowing, edging and strimming every visit
- Border weeding and bed tidying
- Hedge and shrub work on a seasonal schedule
- Leaf clearance through autumn and winter
- General tidying and path sweeping
- All green waste taken away, every time

Garden maintenance in Oxted through a dry summer
Sandy ground decides a lot of the summer work in the centre of town. Borders dry out fast, so we mulch in spring while the soil is still moist, and lawns get a higher cut once June arrives. Weeding on greensand is the easy part, since roots slide out of sand cleanly and a quick hand-weed each visit keeps on top of it. In Hurst Green the summer is gentler on the lawn and harder on the hedges, which romp away in the clay. And autumn everywhere means leaves, lots of them, with oak and chestnut woodland so close.
Fortnightly or monthly for a big garden?
For most large gardens in town we’d recommend fortnightly through the growing season. Monthly sounds sensible, but on a big plot it becomes a catch-up every time and the lawn grows too long between cuts. Smaller gardens often tick along nicely on monthly. We usually start fortnightly, see how the garden behaves in its first year, then adjust. Visits drop back over winter and pick up again in March.
Garden Maintenance in Oxted: your questions
Anything else, just ring. You’ll speak to the people who do the work.
What does garden maintenance cost?
It depends on the size of the garden, what’s in it and how often we come. We’d rather see it than guess, so we’ll walk round with you and give you a fixed price per visit. The quote is free.
Do you charge garden maintenance per hour?
No, we price each visit once we’ve seen the garden. That way you know exactly what a visit costs, and we’re not watching the clock while we work.
Are your gardening services in Oxted on a contract?
There’s no minimum term. It’s a rolling arrangement: if you’re happy we keep coming, and if things change we adjust the visits or stop.
Can I leave some jobs to myself?
Of course. Some people love their borders and just want the lawn and hedges done. Tell us what you’d like to keep and we’ll shape the visit around it.
